 Joe Conway Johnson 
December 18th, 1943 - June 17th, 2024


 Joe Conway Johnson of Upland, California, passed away peacefully on June 17,
2024 after spending the day doing chores around the house, which was indicative
of his strong work ethic. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Don and Bernadine Johnson
on December 18, 1943, Joe was named after his father’s (a World War II veteran)
two closest friends, Joey and Conway. He graduated from Central High School in
Omaha, Nebraska, and was the eldest of three siblings, his brother Steve, who
preceded him in death, and his sister, Julie. After graduation, Joe joined the
National Guard. When he returned, he met Patty Mackenzie and they married on
May 21, 1965. They enjoyed 59 years of wedded bliss. Together, they had two
children, Julie and Scott, as well as four grandchildren, Kyle, Kory, Olivia “Livi” and
Riley. Joe lived an honorable life. He was a member of AA from 1979 until his
death. He worked selling carpentry for the majority of his career. A sports
enthusiast his entire life, Joe loved playing golf. In addition, he volunteered of his
time to the Upland AYSO by helping to clear the ground for the development of
the field, coached youth soccer, and refereed. In the last ten year’s of Joe’s life,
Joe shared a close friendship with Savannah, his beloved cat.
