John Michael Butler

John Michael Butler, 77, of San Bernardino, passed away on July 27th, 2024.

Our Dad Mike, a man of quiet strength and immense heart, passed away unexpectedly on
Saturday July 27th, 2024 at his home. Mike was born in Monterrey, California in 1947 before
moving to San Diego as a youth and eventually to Pomona where he attended high school. He
grew up to become a family man that found great joy in cooking and sharing meals with his
loved ones. His family was the pride and joy of his life. Mike was known for his unwavering
loyalty and kindness; he was a steadfast friend in any situation often adopting his friends as
family. With a gentle free-spirit and a deep-rooted sense of compassion, Mike was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Mike took after his father’s adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors. He preferred a back road or any route less traveled to get to his destinations, always on the hunt for secret watering
holes, abandoned mines, and hidden treasures. His love for animals was evident in his
countless acts of rescuing stray creatures and providing them with loving homes. He spent his final years faithfully spoiling the family dogs and turtle.

Mike’s legacy of quiet strength and generosity will forever be cherished by all who knew him.

Mike was an owner/operator and contractor of Mike's Welding Services located in Rancho
Cucamonga for 18 years. He retired from Vanir Property Management located in San
Bernardino after 15 years. He was an alumni of Boy’s Republic in Chino Hills as well as
Ganesha High School in Pomona. He was also a United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division
Veteran.

Mike is survived by his daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. His Daughter Tiffany
Touchstone, son-in-law Tom Touchstone, granddaughters Taylor Touchstone and Tessa
Jimenez, grandson-in-law Danny Jimenez, and great-granddaughter Amelia Jimenez; Daughter Michelle Cornejo, son-in-law Javier Cornejo, and grandchildren Michael Cornejo and Maizie Cornejo; Daughter Cecily Garcia, son-in-law Ray Garcia, and grandsons Jack Garcia and Troy Garcia.
