Cynthia Moraga Garcia

Cynthia Moraga Garcia passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, at her home in Pomona, CA.

Cynthia was born on July 22,1955, to Robert and Julia Moraga in Los Angeles, CA. The youngest of four, she was blessed with three older brothers: Henry, Bob, and David. Raised in San Gabriel, CA, she lived with both her parents and her father’s mother, Little Grandma. Her childhood was filled with spending time with her cousins and working jobs at the local car wash and Boys Market.

A devout Catholic, Cynthia was baptized at St. Vincent’s Church in Los Angeles. She would graduate from Mission High School in San Gabriel with the distinction of being named “Mission Woman of the year.”

After a brief first marriage, Cynthia hired a man to complete a real estate appraisal. They would fall in love and after three months of courtship, Cynthia married Bernie Garcia on June 18, 1983. Cynthia and Bernie have two sons, Erik and Alec. She also played a major role in the lives of Bernie’s three children.

Cynthia is survived by her sons, Erik and Alec, her stepdaughter Susan, her brothers, Henry and David, and her three grandchildren, Alec, Nathan and Lucas. 

Cynthia had a strong belief in God, pride for her Mexican heritage, an unending love for family, and a desire to always be with them.

Funeral Services will take place on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 10:00 am at 

St. Louise de Marillac Catholic Church, 1720 E Covina Blvd, Covina, CA 91724.
