Mark Aldon Dawson Jr. was born on

April 9th, 1981 in El Cajon, CA.

He is survived by his parents Shirley and Mark.

His siblings: Eric, Sean, and Charrice.

His children: Dominic, Daniel, Donovan, Dorian and Samara.

 His Nephews: Jaden and Logan.

 His Nieces: Kristiana and Bette.

 Favorite Memories:

Charrice: I remember him loving his key cars. He loved playing with them. That and I will always remember his laugh and smile.

Eric: When Markie was little, me and my buddies would take him to the pool. We would toss him around. He was never really in the water. When we finally moved out of Navy Housing and went to our Carlos Pl. house… He jumped in the pool and almost drowned! Before I could even react, our cousin Ricky jumped in and saved his life! They were all of 5 or 6 years old! That little $#*! Thought he could swim!

A few years later, I must have been 16… I forgot my  keys and couldn’t get in the house. I  walked to the back door to see if it was locked. I could see my brother and sister, they were curled up to each other, “Markie! Charrice!” I yelled, while knocking on the door. Then I hear, from a very Panicked Markie “Ate! He knows our Names!”

I yell back! “Of course I know your Names!”

They were watching scary movies and Markie thought I was trying to break in the house. Haha!

Marylou Gilbert

February 10, 1944 - August 23, 2020

Mary Lou Gilbert age 76 of Bloomfield, New Mexico passed away on Aug 23, 2020. Born in Gallup, New Mexico on February 10, 1944. She was one of 5 children born to Estevan V. Gonzalez and Rita M. Gonzalez. Survived by her husband, two daughters, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. As a child she moved from New Mexico to Corona, California where she grew up and married our father Douglas Gilbert. They were married for 59 years.
She was a strong, loving, independent and determined woman. She had a strong character but the most loving soul anyone could ever have. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to dance, play cards, play bingo and go to the casino. We will remember the traditional Christmas tamale making and her cooking. She was generous and always willing to do for others that she wouldn’t do for herself. She was a remarkable woman that will truly be missed. She asked for tears not to be shed for she would be with the Lord in internal life. We will forever in our hearts be grateful of the wonderful love and memories she has given us. May she rest in peace

Hector Jay Bernal

August 27, 1971 - August 18, 2020

It's time to say "Until we meet again in heaven" to my beloved husband Hector Bernal.

Hector was born in East LA on August 27th, 1971 to his parents Hector Bernal and Jessica Robles. He went to heaven on August 18th, 2020 in Upland, California . His second fight with Leukemia had come to a sad end. He is survived by his wife Eva of 28 years, three sons, Hector, Victor, Arthor, his parents, three sisters, and their children.

My husband was the kind of man you saw on the sitcom Cheers, he would have been the former baseball player Sam Malone. He loved to cheer you on when entering a house or upon arrival to a family event. He had a real interest in people and was very considerate of their pain. Always kind and ready to serve, he loved to be funny all the time. While attending any social gatherings he loved to find something that everyone could agree on and make light of it.

He lived by his own advice when it came to doing or going somewhere. Whenever it came to a difficult situation he would always say "i will make the best of it" and would always do so. He always loved a good party and it was an opportunity for him to try out his latest jokes or funny thoughts. this became his trademark. I have asked plenty of people what they will miss the most about my husband, they always reply that he was funny and always made them laugh. I had to agree with them because this was one of the reasons I fell in love with him. My life was so serious because I took care of myself at a very young age. When we met in high school I thought he would be a good friend because he was a good Catholic boy who still went to catechism. I would take my bible to school and read to him.

Soon after we finished high school we got married and started a family. He worked many years as a warehouse worker. I was a homemaker waiting on our dreams to come true. Sadly the humer came to end and one of our home buying dreams has gone with him. I will forever miss my honey. our sons will miss their pops, more so when they meet their spouses and start their families.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story. If you are able to give a sympathy gift in lieu of flowers it would be highly appreciated. His wish was to be buried with our fourth son at Resurrection Cemetery. Our GoFundMe page is up. Please know we can't do this without your support.

Thank you kindly,
Eva Bernal

Ralph Leonard White

June 20, 1932 - August 3, 2020

Ralph Leonard White passed away peacefully on August 3rd, 2020. He was 88. Born June 20th, 1932 to Eric and Gladys White in Kitchener, Ontario Canada, he lost his mother at a young age so his sisters, Joan Dingman, (deceased) and Norma Leslie stepped up to raise their little brother. Jim White, (deceased) was Ralph's only brother. He spoke lovingly of all his siblings, but Jim and Ralph were best friends growing up. Ralph graduated High School in 1949 and was very active playing hockey as well as being an amateur boxer. He won 19 of 24 matches. He was also a bit of a pool hustler in his early years. Golfing was a favorite hobby throughout Ralph's life, having a total of 7 holes in ones. He was a boy scout leader as well. His oldest son, Randy, was in his group and enjoyed the outdoors together. Ralph met his future wife, "Margie" a year after graduating. They had 3 children throughout their 68 year marriage. Randy White, who married Sherry, Roberta (Bobbi) Burk, who married Doug (deceased) and Greg White, who married MaryGrace.  There are a total of 8 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
Ralph worked hard his whole life. He painted with brother Jim in Canada as well as became a MP in the Canadian Army stationed in Germany. In 1963, Ralph decided to move to California with Margie and Randy to make a better life for his family. He found work quickly at Skyline Mobile Homes in Hemet until he got hired at Deutsch Company and worked there for 13 years. While attending a meeting in Oceanside, he met a friend who introduced him to Barbershop singing. In 1975, Ralph joined the Pal-Pac Chapter in Vista and never looked back. In 1976 he joined the Riverside Chapter, the Citrus Belters, and became a lead singer in a popular quartet called The Funtones. They won the very first comedy quartet contest they entered with a baby buggy routine that had the judges laughing so hard, they had tears in their eyes. The Funtones went on to become a very popular group that entertained all over Riverside County for many years. Ralph was an asset to any singing group he stood with! During this time, Ralph also bought his own evaporative cooler business called Whites Coolers. Margie worked in the shop while Ralph worked on roofs and windows. Son Greg, was a big help as well. After departing from Barbershop singing, Ralph discovered karaoke singing through his daughter, Bobbi. It didn't take long for that bug to bite hard. Ralph was a natural entertainer and an amazing vocalist. He wowed the crowds everywhere he went with his charisma and jokes. They knew him and loved him everywhere he went. New York, New York by Frank Sinatra will never be the same. Soon, Margie started singing too and when they sang Bye Bye Love together, it was the cutest thing ever! When asked in the year 2000 who his favorite singer was, he said it was his daughter, Bobbi. Singing, golfing, traveling, camping and family. These are the things he loved. We will miss you! I truly hope your singing up there with the angels

Sam graduated from Barret’s Chapel High School in Arlington, Tennessee. He went on to graduate from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  St. Louis is also where he met Dorothy, the love of his life.  They met at West Side Baptist Church and were married there on his birthday in 1964.
Sam had a successful 24-year career with Target Stores (Dayton Hudson Corporation) that began in St. Louis and continued at their headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  During his time at Target his positions included being a Buyer, Apparel Import Manager, Import Manager and ultimately the Director of Imports.  It was also during this time he was appointed to the Taskforce on International Trade, served on the Board of Directors for the Midwest Importers Trade Association, worked on the Importers and Retailers Trade Advisor Committee, and was a member of the American Association of Exporters and Importers.  Throughout his career he traveled extensively worldwide.  He loved to send his family postcards from afar and always returned home with special gifts and souvenirs for them from the various countries where he traveled.
Sam worked for Revco Drug Stores, Inc. in Twinsburg, Ohio as the Director of Import and Marketing Operations for five years prior to relocating to Rancho Cucamonga, California and returning to Target Stores for another five years before retiring with a total of 29 years of service to Target Stores.
Following his time at Target, Sam’s desire to serve in ministry led him to Community Baptist Church (CBC) where he was Associate Pastor for fifteen years before retiring from that ministry.  During his time at CBC he served on many committees and ministries at the church.  In addition to his work at CBC, he was a long-time member and leader of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF).   He was a Board Member of Pacific Church Network.  He was also a long-standing Board Member and ultimately became the Chairman of the Board for WorldVenture, an international missions organization.  As head of the Missions Team at CBC, Sam traveled to Honduras many times.  His mission work also took him to Mexico, Thailand, Israel, and Africa.  He was often described as “An Angel on Earth” and was truly a Godly man.  Sam was a faithful servant who touched so many lives all around the world.
In addition to all his work, Sam enjoyed studying the Bible, mentoring others, and photography.   Spending time with his family was very important to him, and he especially cherished his time with his granddaughters.  He also looked forward to attending the “Annual Williams Family Reunion” with his siblings and extended family.
Sam leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 55 years, Dorothy, his daughters Melanie Hurst (Jerry) and Robyn Norman (Todd), and his granddaughters Samaya, Aleesha, and Jasmine Norman. He also leaves to cherish his memory his brothers Melvin Williams, Joe Williams (Catherine), Nathan Williams (Reita), his sisters Betty Cody (William), Emma Agnew (Elijah), Carol Whitaker, Margaret Hinton, his sister-in-law, Catherine Brown, his brother-in-law, James Brown (Valorie), his cousins, many nieces, nephews, and friends .  He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Elmira and his brother Ori (Charles Jr.) Williams.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for all the prayers, support and expressions of love during this time.
Due to current restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a future date.
