David Martin Smaw

October 9, 1963-September 8, 2022

David Martin Smaw, age 58  passed away on September 8, 2022. He was born on October 9, 1963 in Hemet, Ca to Junel “Ray” Smaw and Katherine Kieschnick (Kathy Johnson). David graduated from Perris High School and then joined the Army in May 1983. In the army he earned his parachute badge, and earned  riffle, hand grenade, machine gun expert. He was part of the 82nd airborne He received army service ribbon, army good conduct medal, professional development ribbon and lapel button.

David had a sense of humor and very intelligent. He was fun and loving. He is survived by his brother John Smaw, his nieces Niana Smaw (Ryan) and family, Nikole Gonzales (Raymond) and family. Nephews Jeffrey Smaw, Joshua Smaw and Jacob Smaw (Clarissa) and family. Aunts Trudy Philpot, Martha Becerra and several cousins. He will be loved and missed dearly. Services will be held at the Riverside National Cemetery on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 11:45am.
