Rito Boroque Magallanez Jr

July 15, 1940 - October 23, 2019

A grateful & spiritual man, loving Husband, devoted Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. His uncompromising
strength and endurance provided us all security, and encouragement. His devotion to his family and helping others was
and is unparalleled. Departed to be with the Lord on October 23, 2019. God granted him his wish of nonsuffering and
whispered, "Come with me." Your presence we will miss. Your memory we will treasure. Loving you always. Forgetting
you never. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I
will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Born July 15, 1940 in Fort Morgan, Colorado to the late Rito Sr. and Epifania Magallanez. He was the youngest of 9
children and lost his mother at the early age of 13. This loss is what gave him compassion for others. He left high school
early his senior year to support himself.
Rito spent 39 years with Kal Kan Foods Inc., an M&M Mars Corporation, as a Plant Shift Manager, retiring on
June 30, 1998. After a month of visiting the plant daily and asking for work, an Executive recognized his tenacious will
and offered him an entry level role. He worked diligently to climb the ranks and proved his dedication. He was
recognized with several awards such as; consecutive Years of Excellence in Attendance, Employee of the Year, and was
offered the first ever role as Ambassador for the company.
Rito resided in El Monte from 1964 to 2001. In 2001 he and his wife moved to Bloomington, CA. to be near his brothers
and sisters. He supported his son’s involvement in local youth sports by becoming an active coach, and an active band
parent. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and helped rebuild two Catholic Churches within his communities.
He enjoyed golfing, laughing, cowboy movies, and socializing.
Rito is survived by the love of his life, Dolores, of 55 years, his eldest sons; David of Bloomington CA, Leonard (wife,
Deborah) of Dublin CA., daughter Christina (husband, John) of Arcadia, CA., and youngest son Rudy of Bloomington, CA.
He was blessed with 7 Grandchildren; David Jr. (33) (wife, Elena) of Upland, CA., Meghan (27), Brendan (26), and Amber
(23) of Dublin CA, Joseph (23), Lauren (19), and Rudy Jr. (21), of Bloomington CA. He had 2 Great Grandchildren, Priscilla
(8) of Dublin, and Roman (6) of Upland, CA., and two more on the way; one in December of 2019 and one in April 2020,
and his sister, Alicia (husband, George) of El Paso, Texas.
Rito will be greatly missed by his family and friends and leaves a legacy of love, bravery and gratitude. We'll never forget
you. We miss you so much and we will see you in heaven.
A gathering for family and friends celebrating Rito’s life will be on Thursday November 07, 2019 at St. Charles Borromeo
Roman Catholic Church, Bloomington CA. at 11am, and following mass at Hermosa Gardens Cemetery in Colton, CA.

Ann Roberts

December 19, 1927 - October 20, 2019

Ann Cannon Roberts of Riverside, CA died Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Sunrise Canyon Crest where she had been living since March 2017. She peacefully left this world as she stepped into the loving arms of Jesus. She is now reunited with their son, Kevin Christopher Roberts, who preceded her in her journey to Heaven.
Ann Katherine Cannon was the third of four children of Charles William Alexander and Marjorie Kelton Greene, born in Richmond Hill, NY on December 19, 1927. She married Frederick (Fred) George Roberts III at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Forest Hills, NY on February 12, 1950. Besides her husband, she is survived by her sister Marjorie Cannon Williams, her son Rick Roberts (Elizabeth Kennedy) of El Segundo, CA, her three daughters Susan Roberts of San Jacinto, CA, Kim Roberts (Joe Ewing) of Seattle, WA and Lisa Schmid (Dave) of Minnetonka, MN, ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
Ann will be remembered for her fierce love for her husband, her family, knitting and sunbathing as well as for her mischievous pranks, signature sour cream coffee cakes, her kind and generous heart and irrepressible sense of humor. A dear friend described Ann as “a good organizer, who had the strength of her convictions and made good things happen.”
Ann attended PS 51 in Queens, NY for grades 1-6. Her future husband (Fred) also attended PS 51 for grades 1 and 2 before moving to Hempstead, NY. Next, Ann attended PS 99 for grades 7-8 where she and her brother, Bill-- who was 11 months older-- were in the same class. From there, Ann attended Packer Collegiate Institute in Brooklyn, NY, an all-girls school, for her high school years. Ann loved being on the tennis team throughout her time at Packer where she excitedly achieved the title of school champ in her Junior and Senior years.  After graduation, Ann attended Washington Secretarial School in New York City. Ann was a member of the Sigma Delta Theta Sorority.
For many years, Ann was a stay-at-home mom who loved spending time with her children. Every summer, she took her children to Robert Moses State Park at Fire Island, NY, 45 min away, at least three times a week to spend the day at the ocean, building sandcastles, playing in the waves, and most importantly tanning and all the while having family time. Every year on July 4th, she sorrowfully lamented that summer was almost over.
When her youngest entered kindergarten, Ann began what would become her vocation, improving the quality of life for the elderly through social activities. She continued this work when the family moved to CA in 1976, quickly becoming well respected in her field. Her belief that “Activity Professionals were stronger together” was a breath of fresh air, leading to the founding of the Southern California Council of Activity Coordinators (SCCAC) in 1981. Ann said if they (Activity Coordinators) wanted to be taken seriously, it was important to be known as Activity Professionals. SCCAC would become Southern California Association of Activity Professionals (SCAAP). Ann held a variety of positions on the Board including President for two terms of two years each.  She was also involved in the National Association of Activity Professionals (NAAP) where she served as Membership Director. A colleague and a dear friend said, “Ann will always be recognized as a State & National leader of the Activity Profession, mentoring those of us who will always remember her loving, caring spirit and advocacy for those needing our support and help.”
In her retirement, Ann gathered with her family often bringing all of us together through the years. She also met with neighbors and friends over knitting, which was a loved hobby since age 7.  Ann was always knitting at home, in the movies and with her knitting groups.  With Fred, she collected and shipped over 1,000 handknit scarves to soldiers during the Iraq war. But she was never happier than when all her chicks were gathered under the family roof.
Ann's family would like to thank her fellow residents, caregivers, neighbors, and friends for the support they so lovingly provided, especially during the last years of her life. We are very grateful for your love and care of our mother.

Marlene Zenesky

September 13, 1935 - October 3, 2019

Marlene Carol Zenesky (nee Geyer) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on
October 3, 2019 after suffering a fatal heart attack. She was 84 years old and a
long time resident of Rialto, California..

Marlene will be most remembered for her faith, concern and aid to the less
fortunate, love of animals, her intelligence and boundless creativity.

She will be fondly remembered by her spouse of 57 years, Fred Zenesky (Rialto,
California); sons Edmond Peter (Port Richey, Florida) and Jeffrey Patrick
(Redlands, California). Her middle son, Michael Andrew (Bellingham, Washington)
passed away in 2012. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Donna Zenesky
(Redlands, California); Granddaughter, Heather Zenesky (Michigan); Great-
grandson; Cole Zenesky and her Sister and best friend, Judy Schultz (Rialto,
California).

Marlene was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio by her parents Peter and
Margaret Geyer. Years later Margaret would remarry Judy’s father, Howard
Schultz. Marlene was a highly intelligent child and a prodigy dancer.
Unfortunatly, her dreams of becoming a professional dancer came to an abrupt
end at the age of eleven being the victim of a near fatal car accident.

She married at the age of 18 and started a family right away. She always said that
one of the best parts of her life was raising and watching her sons grow up.

Her chronic health issues always prevented her from long term professional goals
but she was always able to find outlets for her creativity. Some of these
opportunities were using her graphic art skills to design logos for Cleveland
companies, designing the library for the local elementary school, being a

community ombudsperson for a social work agency that identified impoverished
families in an effort to provide assistance and gathering clothing to be distributed
to the Navajo in Arizona.

For the last 15 years, Marlene was a housebound invalid and was unable to walk
due to her problematic prosthetic hips. Undaunted, she would always try to
make the best of a bad situation. She spent much time praying for the needs of
her family, friends and even those she would hear about on the evening news.

Through all of her suffering she never lost her belief in God’s purpose and plan. If
asked, that is probably what she would like everyone to remember about her.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at The Mission Chapel in
Hermosa Gardens Cemetery. 900 N. Meridian Avenue, Colton, California from
8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A graveside ceremony will be held promptly at noon on
the 24 th at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
A Memorial service will be held Sunday, October 27 th at 10:00 a.m. at Fontana
Community Church. 8316 Sierra Avenue, Fontana, California.

Everyone is invited to attend these events to say goodbye to our beloved
Marlene.

Ronald Ellerbe

July 29, 1938 - October 3, 2019

The Ellerbe family mourns the loss of Ronald William Ellerbe, born July 29, 1938 and deceased October 2, 2019. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, trumpet player, Air Force veteran and professional, chemical engineer working in the pulp and paper industry for many years, he retired to Hoover, Alabama with his wife Brenda. He was proud of writing the Ellerbe Family History and having it published.
Ron was a difficult man to know. He was quiet, introverted, ambitious, highly intelligent and temperamental. His later years were spent gardening a spectacular variety of vegetables every year, watching the news, dominating the remote control, mastering creole cooking, making tamales and the perfect grilled steak. He was happy to have the last 20 years of his life with Brenda in their quiet, peaceful home with a screened porch and although their personalities were polar opposites, they balanced each other well. Ron devoted the final years of his life to his wife’s care before she passed last year. Ron is preceded in death by his parents Dovie Dora Ellerbe and Truman Audley Ellerbe, first wife Brenda Kay Ellerbe, and second wife Brenda Sue Ellerbe. He is survived by his brother Donald Ellerbe, children Celeste Kay Ellerbe, William Randolph Truman (Bill) Ellerbe, Stephanie Ellerbe Salazar, 5 grand children Rachel Bartelsmeyer, Carina Ellerbe, Cash Ellerbe, Dakota Woods, and Marie Woods and 1 great grandchild, Olivia Bartelsmeyer. A memorial service will be held at home on Saturday evening October 12, 2019
